Horseshoe Bay Resort

My husband and I recently took a trip to Horseshoe Bay Resort (Texas) to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. We had a great time together and are already planning our next vacation! It was so nice to have uninterrupted time and no responsibilities for a few days.

I thought I would share my thoughts on the resort with some pros and cons. My husband visited years ago, however this was my first time.

PROS

  • Beautiful views– The hill country is just amazing!
  • Golf– The golf is unmatched and there are multiple courses to choose from which is a huge seller. We golfed two different courses. You have the option to take a shuttle or drive (about 7 min). There is also a real 72 par putt putt course which is awesome!
  • Lake– The resort has expanded to be on the lake so there are different options to be in the lake, lay out on the sand, or hang in the pool overlooking the lake. There are also different rental options to go out on the lake.
  • Multiple Dining Options– There a many restaurants on property which makes it nice to have different options.
  • Friendly Staff– The staff was beyond nice!
  • Self Parking- You can pay $25 a day for Valet or self park right next to it for free which we appreciated! Both are uncovered.
  • Everything On Room– You can put everything on your room so you do not have to carry anything around

CONS

  • Cost– You pay for a lot once you are actually on the resort from food, drinks, passes to go to the pool, spa, golf, putt putt, lake passes, etc. I wish there was a food and drink package you could pay when booking similar to cruise lines. I personally didn’t like feeling like I was being nickel and dimed for everything.
  • Everything Isn’t Central– You do have to take a shuttle to different parts of the resort or walk 10ish minutes to certain restaurants/pools.
  • Restaurants– Even though it was nice having multiple restaurant options, the price wasn’t worth it to us at times. We averaged $100 a meal. They do have options in Marble Falls which we chose to do after golf the second day.
  • AC– Our room was very nice and pretty however we learned the AC systems are a water coolant system which lacks freon. We did have people come look at ours the first night because our room never felt cold. We LOVE to be cold so this is a big selling point for us.

I will say the resort was so kind with special treats for our anniversary. We were gifted a bottle of champagne and chocolate strawberries in our room, 2 breakfast vouchers and complimentary champagne and dessert at dinner. We had a great time creating memories together and loved our time there.

I would love to know if you have been!

Blessings,

Jac
