If you know me (or have read my posts), you know I enjoy fitness and am passionate about health and wellness. You can read a little more about my background here: About Me. As I was finishing up a workout the other day, I began thinking about my fitness essentials or “must have” items. Here are my current top five! I would love to know what yours are!
I think it is so important to invest in good quality shoes that meet your specific workout needs. For example, if you are a runner purchase a pair specifically made for that. If you cycle multiple times a week, consider purchasing shoes to bring with you to class. I tend to enjoy anything extremely light weight. I think good shoes are always worth the investment!
Current favorite: Adidas Cloudfoam
2. Heart Rate Monitor
There is something powerful in tracking your movement and being aware of your activity. It not only provides insight to your workouts, but can also keep you on track with your goals and motivate you to push a little harder. I use my Apple Watch, but there are different options out there!
Current favorite: Apple Watch
3. Water Bottle
I am a huge water drinker and like to have something I can refill throughout the day. We are currently using Super Sparrow bottles and have really enjoyed them so far! My husband has the regular stainless steel while I have the sport version. We love that they can fit in our car cup holders, unlike our last ones, and you can throw them in the dishwasher. The stainless steel ones also come with sleeves which are nice as well as straw/lid options.
4. At Home/Travel Equipment
I typically work out at home during our sons nap, so I like having different options with what equipment I use. I also like to travel with a few options, just so I have more of a choice and can throw different elements into my workouts. I enjoy having dumbbells, resistance bands, jump rope, sliders, and a mat on hand, however there are so many different things out there you can purchase to keep at home! We have a weight rack in our garage to keep everything organized as well as a drawer in our closet with the other equipment.
5. Streaming Service
I love being able to stream workouts at home or when I travel. It makes it so easy and convenient where I can’t make excuses for myself. There are SO many options out there that are subscription based, or free programs/workouts on YouTube!
