Baby Products We Use At 4 Months

Our son will technically be 4 months at the beginning of September, however he is officially 16 weeks old tomorrow! I have shared a couple of videos over baby products we have used during the first few weeks, along with another post you can check out here: Baby Products We Used for 12 Weeks or Less. I thought I would share some items we are currently using! I would love to know some of your favorites!

1.Bathtub

Our son loves taking baths, and this is the one we currently use. I love being able to stand and give one on the kitchen counter so I am not hunched over the whole time. We will take out the sling when he is ready to sit up, and then he will join big bro! I also love using the Babyganics soap!

2.Crib

We have moved out of the bassinet (due to size) and have been sleeping in the crib for almost a month now, which has been great! Cribs, mattresses, and sheets are such a personal preference!

3.Nursing Supplies

I have shared an IGTV with the bottles and items I currently use which you can check out here. I feel like all of that is also personal preference, but items I enjoy include…

-Medela Pump & Parts

Hands Free Bra

Milk Storage Bags & Freezer Organizer

Dishwasher Basket

Dr Brown Bottles & Nipples

Dr Brown Bottle Warmer

I also have some nursing posts that you can check out here, Breastfeeding Lessons & Breastfeeding/Pumping With Baby 2

4.Activity Center

Our son is really starting to enjoy the activity center, and is a great opportunity for him to strengthen his neck and back muscles. This is the one we have used with both boys!

5.Bumbo

We use the bumbo on top of the kitchen counters while we are meal prepping, putting away dishes, etc. Our son loves to be able to see us and be part of the action! It is also great for early feedings!

6.Rocker

We have loved using this rocker as a chair option! It reclines so they can lounge it in when they are smaller and becomes more upright to have them sit in when they get older. He loves sitting in this when we are eating dinner or while watching us do something!

Items that we still used that I have mentioned before (don’t want to overlap) include the car seat/stroller, portable noise machine, changing mat, diapers/wipes, burp cloths, play mat, sleep sacks, and carrier. I would love to know your go tos!

As always, sending light and love!

Toddler Routines: 3 Years Old

As our toddler has been adjusting to big brother life, I have been so thankful for our routines that we have in place for him. It is a big transition in his world and I am so glad he has things that provide consistency and normalcy. I have shared some of our family routines and my thoughts on them that you can check out here: Why I Value Routines. I thought I would share some of his current routines at age three. I would love to know anything that works well for your family or kids!

1.Bedtime

I am sure many families have a bedtime routine that they do. I personally feel that morning and night are so important to bookend the day with consistency and stability for kids. Our toddler starts his routine at 7pm and is in bed at 8pm. He typically starts cleaning up his toys and room 30 minutes before. His routine includes…

7:00-7:20pm: IPAD Songs (he gets screen time for lunch and at night) & Snack

7:20-7:40pm: Bath (my husband and I alternate bath time)

7:40-7:50pm: Reading (2 books of choice…usually 1 is our library book)

7:50-8:00pm: Brush Teeth, Bathroom, Bible, Prayer, Songs, Affirmations

2.Wake Up Clock

We started implementing a wake up clock around 2 years so our son could learn when it was morning and night time. We absolutely love it for consistency on sleep times and expectations. Our toddler has also learned what he can do if he wakes up early (before it turns green) such as potty, brush teeth, get vitamins/squeeze pouch and play in room.

3. Lunch/Nap

Lunch is probably our son’s favorite time of the day because he gets to watch a show of his choice. He has learned to put up all his toys prior, use the restroom, and help put his lunch together. He does his nap directly after and typically naps for 1.5 hours.

Additional routines include family dinner time, car loading/unloading, and toy/room expectations. You can check out my toy organization here. I would love to know anything you do!

As always, sending light and love.

Blessings,

Jac

5 Running Safety Tips

I have been trying to get back into running post partum. My goal is to go at least once a week and slowly build on my stamina and distance. I have shared some ways I have gotten back into an exercise routine since our son was born. You can check out that post here: Getting Back Into Exercise After Baby. I thought I would share some ways I try to stay safe while running. We absolutely love our neighborhood and town, however I think it is always a good thing to be aware and alert in any situation. I would love to know any of your tips!

1.One Head Phone or None

I think it is so important to have an ear or ears alert while running/walking. I like to use only one air pod so I can hear any cars or people around me. Although I typically love to blast music, I like to be more cautious when I am outside and be alert the entire time.

2.Pepper Spray

I like to carry pepper spray while running just to be on the cautious side. There are so many options now that are great and easy to run with!

3.Form Fitting Clothing & No Jewelry

If someone were to try and grab you, it would be harder with clothing that is form fitting as opposed to loose/baggy. Also not wearing anything that draws attention is something to keep in mind.

4.Different Routes/Time Of Day

If you are the type of person to run/walk at the exact same time in the exact same place every day or certain days of the week, it may be a good idea to continuously switch things up!

5.Phone & Emergency Apps

I always make sure my phone is fully charged and that I have an app where I can easily access help if needed without actually calling anyone. There are some really great options out there!

I would love to know anything you do!

As always, sending light and love.
