Goal Setting Reminders & Tips

I don’t know about you, but I enjoy setting personal goals and creating a vision for the year. I think it is fun to see what unfolds and to have different things to work towards. I have shared tips to easily goal set and create vision boards that you can check out here: Vision Boards & Goal Setting. Today I wanted to share additional tips and things I have learned when creating goals. Are you planning to set goals for the year?

1.Successful With Lifestyle

I think it is so important to create goals that can be successful in your personal lifestyle. It is easy to create goals that are unrealistic or work for other people. Take the time to think about things that are manageable for you and create from there!

2.Lose All Or Nothing Mentality

It is so easy to get sucked into an “all or nothing” mentality on multiple things in life. I have personally been there when it comes to nutrition and exercise and do not plan to go back. I feel like we immediately set ourselves up for failure when we have this mentality and end up creating unhealthy habits. Allow yourself to make mistakes and learn along the way.

3.Plan Of Action

Creating some type of plan will help you actually achieve the goals you set for yourself. If you go in with no plan, chances are things aren’t going to magically happen. Make a game plan that once again fits with your lifestyle that is obtainable and realistic.

4.Value In Routines/Habits

I have shared how I love routines and why I think they are so valuable. You can check that out here: Why I Value Routines. I also have shared some personal routines you can see here: PM Routine & 5 Family Routines. I think there is so much value in creating habits or routines to reach a goal. There is power in consistency and repeating small changes day after day.

5.System Of Checks & Balances

Creating a system where you can check in with your progress is also an important piece. This could be daily, weekly, or monthly depending on the goal. I personally like to keep things organized in my drive and make note of things monthly for anything I am tracking (ex: finances).

What are some things you are working towards?

As always, sending light and love.

Jac

5 Tips To Keep Your Home Clean

With the year coming to a close and a new one beginning, I like to feel like we are starting fresh in our home with everything decluttered and clean. I prefer to do a big clean out before the holidays so we aren’t creating mass clutter. You can check out more on that here: Top 3 Tips To Decluttering Your Space. I also like to clean after Christmas and have things back in order by January. Since it is on my mind, I thought I would share some things that help me. I would love to know anything that works for you!

1. System For Cleaning

Creating a system that works for you is so helpful with maintaining and keeping up with your home. Every family and situation is different, so it really is personal preference. I personally zone clean the last week of each month, and maintain the other three weeks. You can read about that here: Weekly Cleaning Schedule. If you prefer to hire help, that could be another great option!

2. Morning & Evening Routines

Creating simple and easy routines for house chores eliminates a build up of whatever mess it may be. For example, I clean the kitchen and run the dishwasher every evening and unload every morning. Usually they only take a few minutes, but make a huge difference. You can read more about PM routines here: Putting The House To Bed.

3. Family Responsibilities

If you have children that are old enough, creating family responsibilities will help disperse the tasks to do. We have our 3 year do things like old pick up his things, put away dirty clothes, put his dishes in the sink, etc.

4. Fits Into Schedule

Finding how and when to maintain your home really depends on each personal situation. I like to integrate things into my daily tasks, however each person has different preferences and responsibilities. Finding something that works for you and your personal needs will help you be able to manage!

5. Products Organized & Accessible

Keeping cleaning products organized and accessible will make it easy for anyone to help. I don’t know why but if my husband has to search for something, chances are he’s not going to do it. Having everything in one place makes systems and routines flow!

As always, sending light and love.

10 Gifts For The Homebody

I recently shared some gift ideas for the golf lover that you can check out here. I thought I would share some more gift ideas for those who like to stay in or enjoy nights at home. I also have a gift play list that you can check out here for more last minute ideas!

1. Blanket

I personally love a nice, cozy blanket for nights at home. There are some really great options with various price points. I have a few barefoot dreams ones on my list that I have my eye on!

2. Pajamas Or Lounge Wear

I personally love having pajama sets, but also enjoy a good lounge set. Once again there are so many options, brands and price points! Target is always my go to!

3. Candle

If the person you are gifting to loves scents, a nice candle may be a good option! This is also a nice host gift to give since you can get smaller sizes!

4. Slippers

I love a good house shoe and tend to replace ours each year. My husband also uses his house shoes regularly. They are definitely nice to have around and a good gift for many different people!

5. Game

Our family loves playing games. It is nice to be able to do something fun together and include our toddler. Depending on the person, you could gift an adult game or family!

6. Puzzle or Book

My husband and I love a good puzzle, however if the person you are gifting to isn’t into them you could do a new book!

7. Skin Care

If you know what skin care products the person you are gifting to likes, I like they are a great gift to give. I personally love skin care but don’t like spending the money on it so appreciate when I receive it!

8. Recipe Book

If the person you are thinking of enjoys cooking at home, gifting a recipe book or even your personal favorites could be a great option! Our family loves trying new things and is always looking for recipes to add to our rotation.

9. Coffee/Tea Subscription

If the person you are gifting to enjoys a morning beverage, gifting a sampler service could be a fun way for them to try something new! We love using Bean Box for coffee and tea!

10. Professional Cleaning

If you know someone who enjoys a clean home, gifting a deep clean service could be a unique and appreciated gift!

As always, sending light and love.
